i gave up when I realised that the messiah spoken in the ot is not the same as in the nt, and the referrences christians give in the ot as prophet to Jesus didn't really apply to Jesus.

thanks punkofnice, but they never mention which bible or the changes of each bible I think, I dont recall ever reading anything of that sort, I think it's because this would create seeds of dought. The FDS class says how it's interpreted and understood , after all we are all blinded by satan and can't possible use the brain Jehovah has given us to discern from truth and lies lol, but they dont mention anything about bibles.
The reason why I was a jw was because of my parents, the reason why my mum became a jw was because of my grandma, the reason why my grandma became a jw was because a "sister" proved her that all bibles were the same,so one day doing the home bible study the jw took a number of different bibles, granny bought the lie and it became the truth, but this was in portugal (majority of people from portugal are strong supporters of roman-catholicism so maybe textus receptus is not used there?)
The whole intention of the video was to create seeds, I was not trying to say that the trinity is not supported on the alexandrinus texts because it does support the trinity, but just the simple differences, but jw's knowing the differences of the kjv is news to me, i just have to edit the video a little.
Band on the Run: Yeah, some "wordly" people are more educated on the NWT than jw's themselves like James White.

last night, i was reading the thread posted by jwfacts a while back in which he provided some statistics and graphs showing the rapidly declining growth in the watchtower.
one factor that was discussed at length was the high number of young people who do not stay in the organization.

Here they say that the kjv is just as good, I recall a discourse of a "brother" recounting a field service day which he spoke to someone that believe he had the best bible (KJV) to refutte jw's and then the "brother" said back "That's great it's just like ours!". I also kept hearing that all bibles are the same and do not contradict. My book study was conducted by an ex-roman catholic who also said that all bibles are the same (but not the maccabees and the other extra books) but perhaps this is not a central view, that its said here by many but unknowingly not a view supported by the men in brooklyn, I dont know. I over heard an elder saying after the meeting about some bible following some agenda but that about it. But there is the idea among jw's here that the NWT is superior but not different. But I could be wrong.
Excluding John 1:1 it also lists most of the major changes between the Westcott & Hort (Alexandrian) texts (NWT/NIV/NASB) and the textus receptus (KJV).

Anyway, so your bored, jw's knock on you door and you have a kjv bible hanguing around, if you are aware of the differences this should at least show them that not all bibles are all the same.... If John 1:1 was not enought.
